5 cities to explore

Christmas is ahead and what can be a better way to get a flying start of the holidays than to visit a lovely Christmas market? Shop for gifts, try local specialities and feel the Christmas spirit.
Here are five different Christmas markets to choose from in Europe:
London
Go to Hyde Park and experience a traditional German style Christmas market with Glühwein (German Mulled Wine), gingerbread hearts and roasted almonds. Don't miss Europe's largest ice-rink with a capacity of 400 skaters per hour. The Christmas Wonderland in Hyde Park is open daily from the 22nd of November to the 4th of January.
Lille
This is a very popular market with the British because of its convenient location and the Eurostar link from London. Arts, crafts and local cuisine are displayed on Place de Rihour and children can have their photo taken with Santa. The market is on from the 19th of November to the 30th of December.
Copenhagen
Each year in November the large amusement park Tivoli transforms into a winter- and Christmas paradise, right in the middle of the city centre. Sweets, crafts and hot beverages are just some of the things you can find at the famous Christmas market. Open daily between the 13th of November and the 30th of December. Go late to enjoy the beautiful lightning, closing time is not until 10 or 11 p.m. (depending on week day).
Lübeck
The tradition reaches all the way back to the 15th century and with about 2500 markets, Germany has to be the ultimate Christmas experience. Lübeck is top of the line and visitors and exhibitors come here from all over Europe. The city also have a brand new shopping centre – Haerder Centre if your loved ones would like something else but sweets and crafts for Christmas. The market opens on the 24th of November and close on the 23rd of December.
Prague
Go east and try Prague for your Christmas shopping this year. The main markets run at the Old Town Square and Wenceslas Square and you can find all kinds of local specialities here along with hot beverages to keep you warm. Shopping for gifts is easy with various Christmas ornaments, hand-made jewelleries and puppets.
The market is on from the 29th of November until the 1st of January.
