The most important things to bring on a holiday: The camera. The travel diary. And the passport and credit card might also be useful.. ;-) I also try to bring the phrase "I am vegetarian" in the local language.

As a kid I travelled around all over Sweden in a caravan during summers. I also experienced some European cities and car holidays down south to the French Riviera. I dreamt about trips further away..

Back in 2001, I (finally) realized that the lack of travel-loving friends did not have to be a problem.. (especially when you instead can visit friends living abroad or join group tours..) After smaller trips to USA and Hong Kong / Thailand, it was time for the REAL trip! ;-) The 7 months alone in Australia and New Zeeland 2004 was a great experience! I'm glad I won over the butterflies in my stomach.. Ironically, I saw most parts of Australia, except for the part most other backpackers visit (i.e. the coast from Brisbane to Cairns).

In 2006, I joined a group tour with Top Deck on a bus, 50 days around Europe, together with my Australian fiancée.. 17 countries in 50 days is quite a crowded schedule.. not to forget spending 24 hours a day with a bunch of strangers. After a couple of days we could pitch the tent in our sleep..

2007 it was time to go downunder again.. During the road trip in the Kimberleys, north-western Australia, we experienced beautiful nature, outback camping, stunning waterfalls, red sand.. Relaxed for a few days in Darwin and then visited a hot and humid Singapore on the way back home.

Recently done trips: Morocco, Malta, Edinburgh
Upcoming trips: Australia with a quick stopover in Singapore & maybe Malaysia
